This idea has been in my head for a while. An original character for a storyline that's set in a post-apocalyptic world where the nordic gods reemerge. Haven't figured out a name yet, but this char is a Valkyrie.

I kind of got fed up with the Valkyries that modern and medieval painters portrayed. I did a lot of research on Viking religion, life, dress, etc. So no metal armor, horned helmets, fancy modern dress, or roman toga. I wanted to make her very rustic looking.

This char was once human until the gods took her humanity ie her heart. She radiates and is impervious to cold. The tattoos on her legs allow her to pass from the spirit to human world.

EDIT: Lol, finally realized that I was using my new comp monitor at the wrong resolution. So the proportions of everything I've drawn since getting it have been... slightly wider than what I intended. 'Tis corrected now, although there's not much of a difference.
